In May 2014 I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad with my university (University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point). I spent three beautiful weeks in Greece studying Culinary Journalism: the Foods and Wines of the World. I spent my days eating, learning, eating, taking mid-day naps, eating, and studying the amazingly talented chefs that taught us about traditional foods of Greece. Oh, and I ate some more.
The food is some of the best I've ever had was in Greece. Greece has the freshest, most flavorful food (and served in the largest quantities available). If you could smell and taste these pictures....then we would be the life! Please take a look through some of my pictures.
I had the wonderful opportunity to take cooking classes at the Kea Artisinal! I learned how to make homemade phyllo dough, myzethra (A really creamy and oh so wonderful homemade cheese...reminded me of the beautiful Wisconsin), spankopita (spinach and cheese pies), and so much more! Oh, we even had lovely cheese and wine taste testings. Cheese. Twenty types of cheese. I thought I was living a dream :)
Check out these pictures and tell me about some of your favorite food adventures! 'd love to hear about them! :)
